Dear Parents and Students,
I have recently completed filming a documentary series with the
BBC entitled In Search of Genius. This has been an enthralling
and exciting investigation, which confirms that nurture is the
primary factor in developing (or not) our latent potential.
There is no question in my mind that given the right stimulation
and the correct nurturing environment, everyone can manifest his
or her genius. Scientific research has long established that we
use only a small fraction of the astonishing capacity of our human
brains. We have to learn to unleash this potential for success
in school and in our life.
We spend thousands of hours from the time when we enter formal
education learning maths, science and languages, but not a single
hour learning how to learn. A car (which is simpler than one of
your fingers) comes with a 100-page manual and a one-megabyte
computer (which is less intelligent than just one of the million
million brain cells you have) comes with a thousand-page operations
manual. And yet, most have not been taught how our brains learn
and how to make the most of them.
Tony Buzan Learning Centre is dedicated to fulfilling this need
and to equip our students to be lifelong independent learners.
I have selected and trained a team of dedicated Buzan instructors
at this Centre to build on my past 40 years of research in the
field of learning to deliver this goal. This Power Learning Camp
incorporates essential Buzan learning techniques and is a good
start to helping each of our students unleash his or her learning
genius!
